How we handle what you send us.
This page explains what information lavillaweddings.com collects, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. Last updated 29 September 2026.
Who we are
La Villa Weddings is a wedding planning studio operated by Swiss Summit Studio SAGL, Via Motta 18, 6830 Chiasso, Switzerland (CHE-161.591.341), which is the controller of the personal data described here. You can reach us at hello@lavillaweddings.com.
What we collect and why
When you send an enquiry through the form on this site, we receive what you type: your names, email address, phone number if you give one, approximate guest count, preferred dates, where you are based, a budget if you mention one, and anything you tell us about your plans. We use it only to reply to you and, if you go ahead, to plan your wedding. The legal basis is the steps you ask us to take before entering into a contract (GDPR art. 6(1)(b)) and our legitimate interest in answering enquiries (art. 6(1)(f)).
If you ask for our Villa Erba wedding guide, we receive your name, your email address and, if you give it, your wedding year. We use them to give you the guide and may write to you once to ask whether you have questions; we do not add you to a newsletter. The legal basis is your request (art. 6(1)(b)) and our legitimate interest in following it up (art. 6(1)(f)).
The form is delivered by our hosting provider, Netlify, Inc. (USA), which stores submissions on our behalf and forwards them to our mailbox. Netlify also keeps ordinary server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) for security and to operate the site. Our mailbox is provided by Google Workspace.
If you contact us through the WhatsApp link, your message is handled by WhatsApp (Meta Platforms Ireland Limited) under its own terms and privacy policy, and we see your name, number and what you write. We use it only to reply to you.
The typefaces on this site are loaded from Google Fonts, so your browser requests them from Google's servers when the page opens; Google may record your IP address in the process.
Cookies, analytics and advertising
We advertise on Google and use two Google services on this site: Google Analytics, to see how visitors use the pages, and Google Ads conversion measurement, to learn whether a visit that began with one of our ads led to an enquiry. Both are provided by Google Ireland Limited and Google LLC and set cookies in your browser. They load only if you choose Accept in the cookie banner; if you choose Decline, or make no choice, neither is loaded and no such cookies are set. The legal basis is your consent (GDPR art. 6(1)(a)). Your choice is remembered in your browser, and you can change it at any time through the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of each page.
When these services run, Google receives technical data such as your IP address, browser and device details, the pages you view and, if you arrived from one of our ads, an ad-click identifier. When you send an enquiry, we tell Google Ads that an enquiry was made; your name, email address and message are not sent to Google. Google's own use of this data is described at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to a wedding are deleted within twelve months of the last exchange. Information about weddings we plan is kept for as long as we need it to carry out the work and to meet our legal and accounting obligations, and deleted afterwards.
Who receives it
Your details are not sold or shared for marketing. When you engage us, we pass on to Villa Erba and to the suppliers working on your wedding only what they need to do their part: typically your names, guest numbers and dates. Some of our providers, such as Netlify and Google, process data in the United States under the EU and Swiss data-transfer frameworks and standard contractual clauses.
Your rights
Under the GDPR and the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection you may ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, restrict or object to its use, or receive it in a portable form. Write to hello@lavillaweddings.com and we will answer within a month. You may also complain to your local data protection authority or to the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner.
